The term ‘psychology’ is used in the context of the present Association, in a broad sense, etymologically: gr. psyhe (soul) and logos (study or research), with a view of rendering its genuine content of a science studying human soul, and that takes into account its twofold dimension, somatic and spiritual. This line of inquiry and study is emphasized by the subtitle of the Association: For a Science of the Soul into Tradition. (Statute, art. 6, 2)

     Patristics is that part of theology that deals with the writings of the Holy Fathers of the Church.

    Patristic Psychology is the science of the soul based on the texts of the Holy Fathers per se, while allowing a comparative approach of the existing theories concerning psyhe.

     Christology is the anthropological framework in which the field of patristic psychology operates.
